The man behind artbyest.

Nice to meet you: rik Stokker; I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. Sophisticated forms, rhythms and detailing with a portion of patience. Making something beautiful – not a ready-made message, but an invitation to look attentively.

Erik Stokker, artist and founder of artbyest, portrayed in his own distinctive pointillist technique.

Many black dots make white dots.

In the early 1990s at the Cibap, I discovered the rOtring rapidograph drawing pens – the deepest black a pen can achieve. Wonderful! Hours and hours I drew until – actually, I have no idea why – I stopped. After a 25-year break, I started again. I got a rOtring pen and continued where the adolescent of those days had left off. Drawing gives me peace – focus and an opportunity to let go of the hectic life. Welcome to my bubble!
